The Outside - PWC
The event The Australian called 'Corpchella'
PURPOSE: Retain midlevel management in a time of mass exodus
Event Date: May 2023
Event Location: Hunter Valley, NSW
Mission: PwC needed to do something genuinely radical for 4,200 Senior Associates and Managers — not another conference, not another keynote. They needed an experience that would break people free from the corporate mindset and reconnect them to themselves, each other, and why the work matters. I was brought in to make that happen on the Main Stage.
Design: Across four four-day immersive experiences, I owned the Main Stage from 8 AM to 10 PM daily — show calling, talent management, AV, entertainment, and the hundred small decisions that keep the energy alive across 14 hours. The programme wove together themes of connection to country, self-discovery, the future of technology, and what it means to build something together. I also facilitated 45 unconference sessions drawn directly from participant submissions, because the best content in the room was already there.
Impact: +99.5 NPS. Winner of the Mumbrella CommsCon Award for Best Internal Communications. Winner of the Pause Awards Work Sweet Work Culture Award. And a programme that PwC staff still talk about
